Yesterday we took all three kids to Camp Classen and I had a blast. The kids were in a great mood and were full of excitement and anticipation. It was contagious. There was, however, a piece of bad news. When we got there Josie and Jordan found out that they had to be in the same cabin and they were very upset. Jordan rarely openly complains, but you could see it on her face, anger and she was vocal about it. Josie devised a plan that they would not be sisters during their time at camp. Instead they would be good friends that just meant for the first time and Jordan's bad mood lifted. You would think that the girls would be really nervous about being dropped off at camp for two weeks. They weren't. In fact, I felt like I was holding them from something important. I gave them kisses and they quickly ran into their cabin.
Joshua is at the same camp, but about two miles away at 89'er Village. He was a little hesitant about being dropped off, but I asked if he needed anything and told him I was about to leave. Joshua shook my hand and I told him to have a blast..... I left Camp Classen feeling very proud of my kids. Not one of them made less than a B last semester and Josie made straight A's. They look very healthy and their attitudes are better than I can ask for.
Lastly, I would like to thank Dee and Mike for their continued support in ensuring that the kids are able to keep going to camp. Sending three kids to camp for two weeks is very expensive and without their involvement it would be very hard to send them for even one week. This type of experience has a profound impact on the kids socially, physically, and mentally and it is an experience that I'm sure they'll never forget. Thank-you very much.

Man, it's weekends like this last one and big events like the kids going to camp that amplify the fact that I married extremely well! I am so fortunate that I married into a family that genuinely enjoys one another's company. Furthermore, the members of this family are focused on the opportunities that are positively life-altering for a child, camp being one of the major ones. Thanks Mike and Dee!
